Breastfeeding is Best!

Breastfeeding is the healthiest way to feed your baby. Breast milk has just the right amount of protein, vitamins, and minerals for your baby. It helps protect your baby from infections and illnesses. It also helps your baby’s eyes and brain develop. Breastfeeding is good for moms too! Breastfeeding helps you lose weight and keeps your bones healthy and also lowers your risk for breast, cervical and ovarian cancer. WIC Breastfeeding mother’s receive larger food packages and can receive benefits for one year, vs. 6mo. for non breastfeeding mothers.

Breastfeeding Support Services are available to ALL Shiawassee County residents.
